Talk about political manuevering to make yourself sound good:
***
Sen. Charles Grassley suggested in an Iowa City radio interview on Monday that AIG executives should take a Japanese approach toward accepting responsibility by resigning or killing themselves.
"Obviously, maybe they ought to be removed," the Iowa Republican said. "But I would suggest the first thing that would make me feel a little bit better toward them if they'd follow the Japanese example and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say, I'm sorry, and then either do one of two things: resign or go commit suicide."

Now how much negative press would this Senator get if one of the bonus recipients actually did that? And how much would he be blamed for it?
On the flip side, outside of the bonuses they paid, there hasnt been to much light on where the majority of their money went, which was to foreign banks and banks that already received government bail out $$'s.
To me that is much more grevious than the bonus pay outs.

When reading this article, please keep in mind that Obama received the following presidential contributions -- Exelon employees $236,211 (Source: OpenSecrets -- The Center for Responsive Politics): note, Exelon employees also gave over $270,000 to Obama's State Senate campaign, total over $500,000.
Obama scolded Exelon and federal regulators for inaction and introduced a bill to require all plant owners to notify state and local authorities immediately of even small leaks. He has boasted of it on the campaign trail, telling a crowd in Iowa in December (2007) that it was, "the only nuclear legislation that I've passed. I just did that last year," he said, to murmurs of approval.
But, contrary to Obama's comments in Iowa, the bill died amid parliamentary wrangling in the full Senate.
The history of the bill shows Obama navigating a home-state controversy that pitted two important constituencies against each other and tested his skills as a legislative infighter. On one side were neighbors of several nuclear plants upset that low-level radioactive leaks had gone unreported for years; on the other was Exelon, the country's largest nuclear plant operator and one of Obama's largest sources of campaign money.
IN TRUTH, Mr. Obama told the Iowan's that he PASSED nuclear legislation, "just last year (2007)."
IN TRUTH, Mr. Obama LIED -- his nuclear legislation bill NEVER PASSED!

GREAT QUESTIONS ABOUT THE IOWA FLOODS
A few questions from The National Review about the Iowa floods:
Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?
Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks (and trailers) are?
Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago?
When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?
Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?
Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes and big screen television sets?
When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a 'vanilla' Iowa, because that's the way God wants it?
Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of cannibalism?
Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates white, rural people?
How come in two weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

Sweetbutt:
Could you please cite us Obama's own words about his position on the use of guns in self-defense rather than paraphrasing something as I see you have a penchant for distortion, and I'd like to check the facts of the case and Obama's words and vote against what you claim.
From AP:
Obama [at a rally in Idaho]urged those at the rally not to believe everything they hear about him.
"We've heard the usual sort of smear campaigns. I don't know if they've trickled up to Iowa," Obama said to laughter from the crowed, then quickly corrected himself. "Idaho. I know they were in Iowa.
"And then there are people who say, `Well, he doesn't believe in the Second Amendment,' even though I come from a state — we've got a lot of hunters in downstate Illinois. And I have no intention of taking away folks' guns."
